Aims and scope

CVIR Oncology is the first journal dedicated to advancing the field of interventional oncology (IO) and related fields in cancer care and patient management. It serves as a global platform connecting the international and multidisciplinary community of IO specialists and other healthcare professionals involved in cancer care. By addressing clinical, technological, procedural innovations and standards, and translational research, CVIR Oncology supports the evolving daily clinical practices of interventional radiologists, and all other medical practitioners dedicated to cancer care.

As an open-access journal, CVIR Oncology ensures the broad dissemination of rigorously open-peer reviewed research. The journal welcomes a diverse range of article types, including original research, review articles, study protocols, short communications, editorials, letters, commentaries, new technologies and case reports. Publications focus on the latest developments in cancer therapy and treatment, emerging techniques and technologies, and ground-breaking advancements in IO.

CVIR Oncology is an official journal of the Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe (CIRSE). As part of the CIRSE family of journals, it embodies the society’s dedication to promoting excellence in research and clinical practice, fostering innovation, and advancing patient care within the global IO community.
