Welcome words

from Prof. Thomas Helmberger, Editor-in-Chief

Dear Colleagues,

It is with great excitement that we introduce CVIR Oncology, the first and only journal dedicated entirely to the advancement of interventional oncology and its role in cancer care and patient management. Over the past two decades, interventional oncology has emerged as one of the most innovative and rapidly evolving fields in medicine. As image-guided, minimally invasive therapies continue to transform cancer treatment, the need for a specialized platform to showcase cutting-edge research has never been greater.

Having been deeply involved in the development of interventional oncology for many years, I have witnessed firsthand how our field has evolved from pioneering techniques to becoming an integral part of modern cancer therapy. It has been a privilege to contribute to this progress, and I am immensely proud to now take the next step by launching CVIR Oncology. This journal represents a true milestone, made possible through the dedication and expertise of an outstanding team of renowned international leaders in interventional oncology and radiology. Together, we are committed to shaping the future of our specialty and ensuring that impactful research reaches the global community.
